Yellow book and Pink ID card for foreigners
One of the services we provide most frequently is assistance with obtaining a “yellow book” (tabien baan), an official Thai residence registration document for foreign nationals.
Although it is primarily intended for property owners, it can sometimes also be obtained by tenants, depending on the local district office. The yellow book records your registered address and your name in Thai, making it a valuable proof of residence for many administrative procedures.
It can simplify a wide range of everyday formalities, including opening a bank account, buying or selling a vehicle, dealing with tax matters, selling a property, or any situation where proof of address is required.
Once you have obtained a yellow book, you are also eligible to apply for a pink ID card, the Thai identification card issued to foreign residents.
It is important to note, however, that neither the yellow book nor the pink ID card grants Thai citizenship or permanent residency. They are administrative documents only and do not replace the visa requirements applicable to foreign nationals.
