Presentation of "Operation Logo" Summary Starting December 6, 2007, Freelang (www.freelang.net and www.freelang.com) organizes a sale of souvenir products bearing Freelang's logo, whose profit will be given to an orphanage in Thailand. Links The official address of the operation is: www.freelang.org/operation_logo The address of our online shop is: www.cafepress.com/freelang The website of the orphanage is: www.phayathaibabieshome.com Purpose of the operation Freelang uses Cafepress.com to create various products (t-shirts, mugs, mousepad, etc.) bearing Freelang's logo. These products can be bought on Cafepress website (which provides secure payment, shipping and customer care), and Freelang is given the possibility to make a profit from the sale. Our only goal is to distribute our products, as souvenirs, at the occasion of our website's tenth anniversary. There is no reason why we should make money out of the sale, as this would not fit the philosophy of our project. But were not comfortable either with the idea that the only profit should be made by Cafepress. So we had the idea of adding a profit margin for Freelang too, and to use this money (all of it) to buy things for an orphanage. The orphanage that we selected and visited was Phayathai Babies' Home, in Bangkok, where very young children (0 to 5 yo) are taken care of. All the money collected by Freelang will go to this orphanage, as donations in kind and in total transparency (publication of accounts on this site, and respect of a commitment charter).
